I read (and listened to) this in bed this morning, before I was totally awake, intending to come back to it later, which I’m doing now. Did the word “casual” appear as “causal” in the version I read earlier this morning, or did I just misread (mishear) it because I was half-awake and about as alert as Ozymandias half-buried in sand. Also, this piece had me thinking of a Philip Larkin poem about billboards whose name escapes me.
I worked as a proofreader for many years. It’s my default mode. I was sure it was a typo, but then when the recording repeated it, I I wasn’t so sure, although “causal” makes no sense (how many poems don’t though, right? yours do, though). The Larkin poem is “Essential Beauty,” one of my fave Larkin poems. Hope you doing well.

Somehow I and my proofreaders missed the misspelling. You’re not crazy (well, not for that reason). I just fixed it.
